About Us

Maynooth Castle Keep Art Group was established in 1998 and is one of the surviving groups from the then established  Maynooth Action Strategy - arts and culture section.

The group comprises c.20 members from the local areas of Maynooth, Celbridge and Kilcock.  While we do not provide formal instruction we are a friendly and welcoming group and we learn from each other. Our artists range from beginners to experienced.

We meet in the Maynooth Education Campus on Tuesday evenings for informal “meet and paint” sessions which begin in September and end in May.

We hold an annual exhibition held in the Maynooth Education Campus, Moyglare Road, Maynooth usually the weekend after Easter Sunday. We have taken part in community events such as the Maynooth Community Festival. This year due to Covid 19 we have been holdings our Tuesday night meetings via Zoom which we are enjoying.

We would like to thank our patron Mr. Thomas Ashe for his support to the Group over the years, the Maynooth Education Campus principal Mr. Johnny Nevin and Ms. Siobhán McCauley,  and the KWETB for the use of the School.

Currently our membership is full.  If you would like to have your name added to a reserve list for inclusion as a member of the in the Group, please let us know.
